The Good Hope Equestrian Training Center was established in 1999 as a not for profit organization with a mission of providing disabled individuals activities that offer opportunities to increase their independence and quality of life. Using the equine environment as its tool and the 20-acre grounds as its classroom, Good Hope Equestrian Training Center (GHETC) offers unique educational, rehabilitative, recreational and vocational programs serving the South Florida community. Today, GHETC has emerged as the only equestrian facility within the country that serves as a multi-faceted program providing Adult Day Training, Non-Residential Support Services, Supported Employment, Therapies, & Therapeutic Horseback Riding Instruction. The Good Hope Equestrian Training Center is a nationally accredited facility through the North American Riding for the Handicapped, as well as a certified provider of Medicaid Waiver, Supported Living Waiver & Medicaid. Good Hope is committed to annually expanding program services to meet the needs of South Florida’s disabled and most underserved residents.

In November 2001, Good Hope became the only Miami-Dade County Premier Accredited North American Riding for the Handicapped (NARHA) facility. The NARHA’s Premier Accredited Center Program offers NARHA centers the chance to demonstrate their excellence in providing quality, evidence-based equine assisted activities. This voluntary process recognizes NARHA centers that have met established industry standards. The accreditation process is a peer review system, in which trained professional volunteers visit and evaluate centers in accordance with NARHA standards. Centers that meet the accreditation requirements based on the administrative, facility, program and applicable special interest standards become a Premier Accredited Center for a period of five years. Recognizing Good Hope’s excellence in administrative and service delivery methodologies, the agency is accredited through the beginning of 2007, with re-accreditation scheduled on March 3rd of this year.
