These individual and group sessions provide persons with varying disabilities a healthy outlet to share the common love of horses with others, while simultaneously making positive changes in their cognitive, physical, emotional and social domains. Within this facet of our program our NARHA certified instructors guide their students toward their personalized equestrian goals.

Equine Assisted Activities
The GHETC ADT program provides adult participants with specialized training, including Functional Academics, Independent Living Skills, Technology, Arts & Crafts, Physical Education, & Equine Assisted Activities. Our commitment to increasing opportunities for people with developmental disabilities is evident by the achievements of our program participants. This program provides courses in areas that are considered to be critical to the consumers’ independence and self-confidence. The Good Hope Equestrian Training Center offers the following curriculum components to the clients that we serve: Functional Living Skills, Academics, Independent Living Skills, Employability Skills, Computer Technology, & a variety of Equine Related curriculum components.
The following activities are used to achieve psycho-educational goals as well as to provide the adult clients the opportunity to participate in an interest related program that provides meaningful day activities. Benefits include improvement in cognitive skills, self-confidence, perceptual-motor skills, ability to function in a group, and skills needed to function effectively within the community.
Adult Day Training (ADT)
Good Hope’s supported employment program facilitates the disabled adults from dependence on a service delivery system to independence via competitive employment. GHETC encourages people with disabilities to work within their communities and promotes positive employment practices, social interaction, and integration. The job coach works
Our supported employment services provide assistance within the following areas: specialized job training, job coaching, transportation, and individually tailored supervision. These services are geared to promote and facilitate the following outcomes: expansion of new abilities, increased community participation, enhanced sense of worth, improved quality of life, augmented consumer empowerment, and an opportunity to earn equitable wages and to acquire other employment related benefits.

GHETC’s experienced staff members will give you or your loved one the necessary assistance needed at home and in the community to maintain a safe and independent lifestyle. Providing individualized care in the home and in the community, and overall assistance within their personal care and home are just some of the non-medical services that our Companions perform.
Our Companion Services
•Helping start the day and end the day (i.e: safety, preparation for next day & daily reminders)
•Assisting with personal hygiene and self-help skills
•Reminder services (medications, dates, routines, etc.)
•Preparing meals and feeding
•Providing companionship
•Errands (prescription pick-up, dry cleaning, etc.)
•Organizing and reading mail
•Grocery shopping
•Escorting to appointments (doctor appointments and social engagements)
•Entertaining (games, crafts, reading, etc.)
• Home safety evaluation
