Good Hope Equestrian Training Center has served the recreational, social, vocational and rehabilitative needs of Miami-Dade County’s individuals with disabilities since 1999, augmenting their independence, employability potential, and quality of life. Using the equine as its medium, Good Hope offers an array of innovative programs serving more than 275 underserved Miami-Dade County residents annually. The organization’s goal is to foster personal growth in each of its consumers, providing them the opportunity to participate in equine-related training regardless of their physical, mental, social or financial limitations.
Good Hope Equestrian Training Center is the only Premier Accredited North American Riding for the Handicapped (NARHA) facility within Miami-Dade County. In achieving NARHA’s Premier accreditation status in 2001, GHETC has successfully demonstrated its excellence in providing quality, industry standardized, evidence-based equine assisted activities to individuals with disabilities. The tranquil 20-acre facility with friendly equine friends offers families a chance to escape their stressful lives and benefit from the unique feelings of well-being that accompany interactions between horse and participant. The center provides a safe, fun and effective medium for families to better understand, relate and communicate with each other while simultaneously providing equine rehabilitative activities to the family member.
